Surface Characteristics
  • The electrode surface must exhibit no more than two defects or holes, with their maximum permissible size as indicated in the accompanying chart.
  • Absence of transverse cracks is mandatory on the electrode surface. In the case of longitudinal cracks, their length must not exceed 5% of the electrode’s circumference, while their width should fall within the range of 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm.
  • The width of any darkened region on the electrode surface must not exceed 1/10 of the electrode’s circumference, and its length should remain below 1/3 of the total electrode length.
